The all-new Rapide cockpit is about much more than the fastest path to the finish line. It's the fastest cockpit we've ever developed, improving aerodynamic gains where they matter most and saving four watts compared to the already lightning-fast Rapide handlebar and Tarmac SL7 stem combo. But delivering a competitive advantage requires more than just aerodynamics. The Roval engineering team's goal was simple: the Rapide cockpit had to be the fastest handlebar we've ever made, with no compromises. It's aerodynamic, lightweight, stiff and designed hand-in-hand with the world's best runners and our Retül positioning experts so you can maximize your performance.

AERODYNAMICS: Removing the connection between the stem and handlebars allowed us to design the leading edge of the handlebars as a single aerodynamic profile. We optimized this profile to gain maximum advantage in the air at speeds ranging from long solo breakaways to powerful World Tour sprints where stage victory is at stake. Although a four-watt improvement may seem small, it translates to a 32 cm advantage over a final 250-meter sprint. When races are won by bicycle throws, it is a winning difference.

LIGHT AND RIGID: By removing the connection between the stem and the handlebars and the hardware that goes with them, the Rapide cockpit is 50 grams lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) than a Rapide handlebar and Tarmac SL7 stem assembly. Made from premium high-modulus carbon fiber, which provides ideal stiffness for the World Tour's fastest sprinters, the Rapide cockpit has a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than any two-piece system we've ever made .

FIT: The downside to one-piece cockpits has long been fit, but we've teamed up with our Retül experts and the world's best racers to ensure that almost any racer can find their fit. We offer 15 different stem and handlebar combinations, all -6 degrees. Particular attention has been paid to wrist clearance, whether out of the saddle during a final sprint or in an aero position, while the curvature and flare are similar to our Rapide handlebars.
